Aalholm Automobile Museum is one
of Europe's largest, with four large halls showing about 200 motorcars from
1886 to the present day, with the majority from pre-1940. The collection
originally began with Aalholm's own Rolls-Royce from 1911. Also on
display is a huge model railway, Märklin Track 0, where the trains
travel through European landscapes to Venice by day and night. The
Museum is situated at the edge of Aalholm Woods, close to Nysted, which
is Denmark's smallest and best preserved market town with a busy harbour.
Visitors travelling on foot, by bicycle, or by car from the Museum to
Nysted will have a view of Denmark's oldest medieval stronghold, Aalholm
Castle.
